1991 April The Institute of Cancer Research and the Institute for Environmental Medicine were reorganized and the Institute of Cellular and Molecular Biology was established.
1992 April The Department of Neuroscience was established within the Institute of Cellular and Molecular Biology.
1998 October The School of Health Sciences was reorganized into the Faculty of Health Sciences.
Performed the first successful lung transplant in Japan.
1999 March The First Surgical clinic performed the first gene therapy in Japan for lung cancer.
2001 March The Urology clinic performed the first gene therapy for prostate cancer in Japan.
April The Graduate School of Medicine and Graduate School of Dentistry were integrated, and the Graduate School of Medicine and Dentistry was established.
2003 April The Graduate School of Medicine and Dentistry established dental majors (Master’s Course).
The Graduate School of Health Sciences (Master’s Course) was established.
The Center for Gene and Cell Therapy was established.
October The University Hospital of Medicine and University Hospital of Dentistry were integrated, and became the University Hospital of Medicine and Dentistry.
2004 April Okayama University became Okayama University, National University Corporation, under the National University Corporation Law.
2005 April Graduate School of Medicine and Dentistry and Graduate School of Natural Science and Technology (Pharmaceutical Sciences) were integrated as Graduate School of Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmaceutical Sciences (2005).
The Graduate School of Health Sciences (Post-doctoral Course) (Doctoral Course) was established.
2007 January The hospital name changed to Okayama University Hospital under the Medical Treatment Act.
2008 January The new hospital admissions building was completed.
2009 April The University Hospital of Medicine and Dentistry were renamed Okayama University Hospital as part of the university hospital.
2012 April Designated as disaster base hospital and advanced emergency medical service center.
September First simultaneous liver and kidney transplants in Japan.
Established Regional Medical Personnel Resource Center Okayama (called MUSCAT CUBE )
2013 April Okayama University Hospital designated a Core Hospital for Clinical Study (Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare)
October Junko Fukutake Hall (J-Hall) completed.
November 100 lung transplants and 300 liver transplants achieved simultaneously.
2014 August Okayama University was designated as a research university (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology’s Program for Promoting the Enhancement of Research Universities )
September The Graduate School of Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmaceutical Sciences was designated as part of the Translational Research Network Program (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology)
2015 April Established biobank
August First successful renal auto-transplant using da Vinci surgical system in Japan.
September Okayama University designated as PRIME Program (MEXT support for establish Super Global universities)
2017 April Okayama University Hospital designated as Core Clinical Research Hospital under Medical Treatment Law.
May Okayama University Hospital obtained accreditation under Japan Medical Services Accreditation for International Patients (JMIP ).
February Okayama University received the first Japan SDGs Award Special Prize.
2018 February Designated as Cancer Genome Medicine Core Hospital.
